008: BEHIND THE BRAND, PART I
A lifetime of memories transformed into Cottage Coffee within a couple months time?? Brew yourself some #coffee, and let’s dive in.

JOURNAL 001: Introductions - Begin with the backstory and my Northern Michigan roots, which are shared on both sides of my family.
JOURNAL 002: Thing For Coffee - Dive into my professional experience in the specialty coffee industry, from opening our own coffee shop for the nonprofit organization I co-founded, [HAS HEART], to designing the brand identity and packaging for Morningsong Roasters. And more.
JOURNAL 003: Building the Brand, Part I - This is where the rubber starts to meet the road. First, I started by combing through old family photos, slides, and VHS tapes before creating a brand concept deck that outlines the vision and foundation of Cottage Coffee.
JOURNAL 004: Group Getaway - With prototype labels and branding in place, it was time to get the first initial content to help build-out the website and social media channels with some Northern Michigan vibes with the cast of good friends alongside.
JOURNAL 005: Building the Brand, Part II - Time to revise the first round of prototype tins and labels, including recreating my Grandma Joyce’s cursive handwriting to become the Cottage Coffee logo and welcome slogan used throughout the labels and website.
JOURNAL 006: Ready to Launch - My goal was to launch the coffee so that folks can take it Up North with them for Memorial Day weekend, the official start of summer!
JOURNAL 007: Welcome to The Cottage - With some many comments about how incredible The Cottage seems, it was only right to offer a more in-depth virtual tour of it, from the past to the present.
AFTER ALL THIS, YOU CAN BEGIN TO SEE THAT COTTAGE COFFEE IS MORE THAN JUST COFFEE.
